Carbon financing JI- and CDM- projects Norsk Energi is developing climate change mitigation projects using the flexible mechanisms of the Kyoto protocol; the Clean Development Mechanism and Joint Implementation. Norsk Energi is one of few companies in Norway who identify and prepare the required documentation for such projects. For Norwegian and International clients we develop Project Idea Notes (PINs) and Project Design Documents (PDDs) in annex 1-contries (Joint Implementation) and non-annex 1-contries (Clean Development Mechanism). We also assist authorities in several countries to build up expertise and institutional framework for the Kyoto mechanisms. Our main geographic focus is Central and Eastern Europe, the Russian Federation and other CIS countries, but we also provide services in China, Uganda and other parts of the world. Project identification and development Norsk Energi has worked for over 15 years to build expertise in renewable energy, energy efficiency and environmental improvement throughout Eastern Europe, the Russian Federation and other CIS countries. The result is a network of local experts who use their gained knowledge to identify JI and CDM projects. These local experts then work closely with us to develop the projects towards to financing and implementation. Capacity Building Norsk Energi has carried out capacity building courses on JI and CDM targeting project owners and project developers representing municipal and private enterprises, as well as NGOs and educational institutions. The success of the capacity building is ensured by the identification and development of real JI /CDM projects as an integrated part of the program.
