Norsk Energi looks for climate projects in Latvia

Wednesday, 28 May 2014.

Norsk Energi has participated at the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism (EEA Grants) Programme’s “National Climate Policy” partner search forum held in Jurmala, Latvia on 27th of May 2014 for strengthening the bilateral relations between Norway and Latvia in the field of climate changes. The partner search forum was organized by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development of Republic of Latvia and the Norwegian Environmental Protection Agency (Miljødirektoratet).

The two main areas for mutual cooperation between Latvian and Norwegian organisation under the EEA Grants scheme are:

  • Capacity Building in the Field of Research and Measures for Enhancing Society’s Understanding about Climate Change and its Consequences;
  • Emission reduction technologies including renewable energy, sustainable buildings and technology development.

We are currently looking for a Latvian counterpart to develop jointly a project concept under this grant scheme. Norsk Energi is an attractive partner for the interested Latvian organization because of our rich experience in building local capacities of countries in Eastern Europe on energy, environment and climate change mitigation.
