Input for revival of energy efficiency in turbulent Ukraine

Norsk Energi will assist Nordic Environmental Finance Corporation (NEFCO) in identification of a bankable project for energy efficiency in buildings in western part of Ukraine.

Sergei Faschevsky, senior consultant from Norsk Energi will join NEFCO’s team in order to identify viable measures and develop a roadmap for an investment project in the buildings mass at the level of 5-7 million Euro.

Funding may be provided NEFCO and The Eastern European Energy Efficiency and Environment Partnership (E5P). To qualify for the international financing, the project shall meet with stringent environmental and financial objectives and be in line with both Ukrainian and international good practices.

NEFCO is an international finance institution established in 1990 by the five Nordic countries that provides loans and makes capital investments in order to generate positive environmental effects.

This new initiative is seen by NEFCO as a part of its strategy for continued support of energy efficiency sector of Ukraine without interruptions, despite the on-going political turbulences.
