On behalf of the Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (Nefco), Norsk Energi has identified 15 projects related to energy efficiency and energy system restructure in Karelia. The implementation of these projects would result in a reduction of approximately 200 000 tonnes of greenhouse emissions over the Kyoto period.

Norsk Energi has extensive experience in both carbon offset projects and district heating systems, which is being utilised in three district heating projects in Russia and the Ukraine.
