Solør Bioenergi’s new power plant in Kirkenær is Norway’s first biomass power plant. The energy is produced by creosote and wood waste treated with CCA, which also makes this facility the country’s first collection and incineration facility of treated timber.

Heat from sewerage system used for district heating |
|
Skøyen district heating centre produces heat for 9000 homes by utilising warmth from the Oslo sewerage system.
The plant constitutes two heat-pumps; one at 18MW and another at 9MW. Delivery temperature of the heating water from the heat pumps is 90oC.

District heating from 90% biomass |
|
Hafslund Fjernvarme’s district heating centre at Gardemoen is one of Norway largest commercial biomass plants. The plant was first constructed with a capacity of 7MW. Until 2005, 50% of the fuel for the plant was sourced from biomass.
