Nidar AS has implemented a series of simple energy efficiency measures in their Trondheim facility, which have resulted in a reduction in their energy consumption of more than 10%.

The measures, implemented in conjunction with Norsk Energi, have resulted in an energy reduction of almost 5 GWh and a reduction in water consumption of more than 100 000 m³ annually. These reductions have resulted in an annual cost saving of around 5 million NOK.

With the recycling of steam and cooling water, Yara Porsgrunn can reduce energy consumption at the plant by more than 50GWh per year, saving around 10.5 million NOK. The investment required will be repaid in less than one year.
